The Irish rising against the British government, began on Easter Monday in 1916, and lasted just six days. The first 18 Irish martyrs who faced immediate execution are memorialized in Martyrs of the 1916 Easter Uprising in oil on board with 24K embossed gold. Although comprised of 18 unique paintings, they collectively encompass a most unique piece, bordered to create an Irish flag in green, white, and orange.
