Maureen, it has been my/our pleasure meeting you and Steve and experiencing what giving, wonderful people you both are. When we first learned of your artistic talents, never did we dream that your art would have such a prominent place not only in the City of Downey’s History, but also in the City and County of Roscommon, Ireland.
Bob and I were honored to be part of the delegation in the twinning of the two cities, and the two portraits that you painted of John Gately Downey, which now hang prominently in the Cities of Downey and Roscommon, Ireland are outstanding. Not only did your paintings bring more emphasis to his historical background in starting the City of Downey, but took him back to his home in Ireland to be admired for his endeavors by many.It has truly been my/our pleasure to experience your beautiful art and to continue enjoying your portraits that have followed for the Downey Historical Rives Mansion, and the Church of the Resurrection. Thank you for the beautiful work you do. I have 3 of your pictures in my home. Right now I am looking at the fountain with the little dog looking up at the water running over the edge. My wife is a lover of cats and birds. Both kinds of creatures play prominent roles in Maureen Gaffney’s beautiful pictures of Humphrey the San Diego feline, and the Autumn Bench, which adorn the walls of our Virginia home. Maureen is a one-of-a-kind artist with amazing talent, through use of color, texture, and selection of theme. The rich and vivid portraits that she creates must be seen to be fully appreciated. It would be hard to walk away from her gallery without selecting something to take with you!

I have been browsing Maureen's website for a couple of years after seeing one of her paintings of a bird that was gifted to close friends. What should have been an ordinary bird was transformed into an extraordinary painting with the attention to details in every inch of canvas. Such talent is rare and Maureen's paintings touch a wide range of people's sentiments. Keep painting Maureen, we love to see what else you create and turn into beauty.

Maureen's work continues to amaze. She is both generous and talented and generous with her talent. Her portrait of John Downey is centre stage in the council chamber of Roscommon County Council, home county of John Downey, Ireland. I look forward to seeing in person the "sister" portrait of John Downey that hangs in Downey, California. Wishing Maureen continued success.

Maureen is my friend! I am a thirteen year old boy and I am proud to have some of her art hanging in my bedroom. One of my favorites is of their dog, Daphne. I love Steve and Maureen. I was blessed to attend the special event where her beautiful picture of Jesus was given to a church.

I have known Maureen for quite a while and even have had the opportunity to watch her work. She is an incredibly accomplished artist as you can easily see from her work. My daughter ios an artist as well so I have learned to appreciate good artwork and maureen's is simply some of the best I have seen!

Having had the honor & privilege to be exposed to so many of Maureen's paintings at one time was amazing. Getting to know her and Steve personally was even more special. The Wolfson's took a fondness to a small resort in North Georgia a few years back which I had the pleasure of managing. Barnsley Gardens and its rich and captivating history inspired Maureen to paint many wonderful pieces of art. I visit your website from time to time just to reflect on a special time with dear friends.

Dear Maureen,
I really enjoy viewing your paintings as we plan a project with the "new" Bell. I especially like the stills. This must be because I like flowers and the bright colors! The illumination I also find deeply impressive.
Your work and energy toward the community, especially the painting of the resurrection in Boyle Heights was magnificent. The community was so grateful that it was an easy decision for the City of Los Angeles to honor you and your amazing life!
